"Fight for the things that you care about, but do it in a way that will lead others to join you."
Ruth Bader Ginsburg
Do you see yourself as a leader? Has your ability to lead ever been affected by your emotions? As a budding young lady, how do you fit into your leadership role boldly and confidently?
In a male-dominant society, we are told that we must not show our weaknesses. Unfortunately, this can have a huge negative emotional impact. Women and girls are naturally created to be emotional beings. Suppressing our emotions can cause us to bleed internally from depression, anxiety, isolation, and fear—ultimately causing us to struggle with excruciating pain in silence.
If you can allow yourself to be vulnerable with others and release pride and fear during leadership moments, you bleed outwardly. This brings healing and growth.
Learn how to overcome and surrender.
Girl Talk: Leading While You’re Bleeding is a book of short stories and exercises co-authored by Life Coach Andrea Taylor and a group of four bold, brave and strong young ladies who are the core team of this year’s 7th Annual Girl Talk Conference, A Confident Girl.
Through these short stories and exercises, readers have the opportunity to experience the authors’ raw and honest struggles as they gain wisdom about personal growth in self-esteem, character, attitude, and spiritual and emotional endurance.
Bio.
Certified Life and Career Coach Andrea Taylor wears many hats and loves what she does for a living. She is the founder of the non-profit organization, The X’change Mentorship Academy as well as the developer of the program, Girl Talk.
Each year, Girl Talk hosts an annual conference where women and girls are given a safe and non-judgmental space to discuss intimate topics. Through these annual conferences, Andrea’s organization has touched and helped both young girls and seasoned women understand and gain tools in areas such as mental health, leadership, entrepreneurship, and confidence.
After repeatedly hearing the pain and struggles of teen girls, The X’change mentorship decided to sponsor four young ladies to share and write about their pain and how they overcame it. This serves the dual purpose of helping them heal as well as helping other young ladies feel inspired so that they too can break free of past hurts and pain.
